LGL History
The story of the Lenborough Group is one of innovation, diversification, ambition and sheer hard work. From humble beginnings to the most trusted supplier to the kitchen and joinery trade today. LGL has constantly pushed the boundaries in our desire to be the best.
Quicksharp Services formed the origin of the LGL Group and started its journey as a saw blade re-grinding and sales company in Buckingham.
Quicksharp introduced a range of consumables alongside the saw re-grinding.
To grow the range of consumables and customer reach, Quicksharp purchased a division of the Lockmetal group - Lockwood Architectural Ironmongery.
As Quicksharp grew, a larger 5-acre site located in Signal Hill was purchased to facilitate future expansion.
Runners was created to focus on our sliding solution range.
To cover the vast array of ironmongery and consumables, Quicksharp distributed its first 400-page catalogue.
Quicksharp purchased Avondale, a consumable and wood finishing supplier based in Evesham, Worcestershire. Therefore expanding customer base and product range.
To facilitate growth and stock holding further investment was made into a 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse/distribution facility within the Signal Hill site.
As part of the strategy to provide a complete range of sliding solutions a partnership with Tomma AU is formed to supply the Tomma systems throughout Europe.
With continual expansion Quicksharp incorporated as a Ltd company.
Probox a manufacturer of high quality dovetail drawers was purchased and expanded to enable supply of Probox products throughout the UK.
A powerful and recognisable re-brand was needed to encompass the wide range of consumables and hardware...Quest was born.
A new family of locking systems for joinery manufacturers was created and included within the Quest range.
To increase product offering and customer base, Bedford Fixings was acquired.
To increase volume and capacity for our drawer range, further investment is made in production and distribution facilities.
Quest introduces a new range of high quality hinges and mag catches...the Select range.
To enhance LGL's offering to the kitchen industry G&G is purchased, a manufacturer of plastic drawer inserts.
New 22,000 sq. ft. production facility in Manchester housing state of the art CNC machinery to provide high quality doors and frames to kitchen manufacturers throughout the UK.
